Vision of Care (2005-08)
Vision of Care (2005-08) |
| The ‘Vision of Care and Roadmap to Guide the Victorian Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service’ was the first phase of an ongoing service program to ensure Victorian paediatric cancer services are at the forefront of the very best, evidence based practice. The ‘Vision of Care and Roadmap’ guided service development from 2005 to 2008. During this period the PICS worked with hospitals providing treatment to children with cancer in order to improve access, consistency and coordination of care. Highlights during this period include the development of the Regional Outreach and Shared Care Program (ROSCP), the development of a model of care and attraction of recurrent funding for the Long Term Follow-up Program (LTFP) and the establishment of a Fellowship Program within the field of paediatric oncology nursing. The PICS Strategic Plan 2009-12 is the second phase of this ongoing service program and will continue to develop services and standards of care to continue development and improvement for paediatric cancer services across Victoria.
