Regional Outreach and Shared Care Program (ROSCP)
|
Between 30% and 40% of children treated by the RCH Children's Cancer Centre and Monash Children’s Cancer Centre are from rural centres. An essential aspect of the ROSCP program is the need to have a formalised relationship with regional hospitals that meet agreed criteria for paediatric care. The ROSCP is a program that facilitates the transition between the primary treating hospital and the regional centre that cares for children and adolescents with cancer. The program provides opportunities for shared care and ensures there are agreed levels of training and standards of care for medical, nursing and allied health and supportive care services.
