Eating Well
Eating Well |
| Your child might eat a little less than usual during treatment. There are many reasons for this. Your child may be very tired or feel quite sick. It is very common for taste to change during active chemotherapy treatment. Although your child may lose a small amount of weight, this is put on again quickly once your child is feeling better. Try not to worry if your child doesn't each much. Remember there is another meal or snack coming up in a few hours. Try to keep the family routine for meal times, but be flexible. It's okay to have take-away foods and sweets occasionally when the rest of the family has them. Children can often develop a dislike for things they eat while feeling very unwell. This means that these foods may not be eaten much while your child feels well. Sometimes it is better not to give your child their favourite foods too often when he/she is feeling unwell. Even if your child feels unwell, it is important that your child doesn't go too long without eating.
