| Whilst Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is predominantly an adult based service, it is the only provider of paediatric radiotherapy services in Victoria, also offering services to some interstate and international children and adolescents. In August 2008, the PICS commissioned an external review to address challenges Peter Mac face in providing paediatric services within a largely adult-centred service model. The vision of the service review is that all children and adolescents with cancer and their families have access to high quality radiotherapy and associated services that are provided within acceptable safe standards of practice and are well coordinated with other treatment systems.
